“Epiphany,” the theme of our Fall 2020 Print Issue, focuses on the dire circumstances of our environmental reality. Climate Change is here, and will continue to worsen throughout our lives unless we reimagine a better future for ourselves in every aspect of society. The Fashion Industry is a large contributor to environmental degradation through wasteful manufacturing processes and the culture it has propagated of overconsumption. In “Awakening”, we hope to reflect on the overconsumption of the past, outline the bleakness of our Present moment, and imagine the possibilities of a Dystopian or Utopian future; one in which we are able to respond to the environment and create a world where we see ourselves as a part of the natural environment rather than apart from it, and another in which we let the world unfold into a science-fiction-esque state of disarray.
